GE Profile Inflatable Washer and Dryer Replicas Hit Times Square

GE Inflatable Washer and Dryer in Times SquareGE Inflatable Washer and Dryer put a new spin on Times Square

New York City is world-famous for having some of the most unusual sights and people in the world. So it took a little doing to create something that would capture attention in this borough of the bizarre. A giant, red, inflatable product replica did the trick!

It only makes sense that GE wanted a high profile for their new Profile™ washer and dryer set. During their event this past August, they hosted an auction in Times Square. The 40-foot tall inflatable product replica towered over the crowd and drew visitors to the event where they auctioned off a pair of Ryan Seacrest's blue jeans.

In addition, lucky attendees were entered into a drawing to win a pair of the new GE Profile™ appliances.

The designers at Landmark Creations had a lot of fun with this project.  Recreating the washer/dryer took some time, but we managed to duplicate each button and knob with exacting detail. With subtle details like being able to "see through" the front-load windows of both appliances, these giants were exceptionally lifelike. It all made for a fun and highly successful event.

"[There was] fun, excitement, and encouragement for everyone to actually walk under/through [the arch] and it worked.  We have cheerleaders and small children at the finish line by the arch handing out stickers, saying ‘I did it.’ Before we had the arch, [people] would straggle in anywhere."

- Jackie Allen, March of Dimes

"Our tunnel was also a great addition to our pre-game tradition: the Wildcat walk. Our city shuts down three blocks of downtown, and we have hundreds of fans lining the streets with a police escort, while we walk to the stadium."

“Everywhere it goes, folks go out of their way to catch a glimpse of the colorful inflatable.”
